Our Chaplains

Chaplains serve all in the University of Exeter community; staff/students of any faith background or none. They offer specialist faith advice, pastoral and spiritual support and run events from various different faith traditions and worldviews.

If you're ever feeling stressed, down or simply want to have an informal chat with our Chaplains about anything, feel welcome to book a Time to Talk appointment or reach out to a Chaplain directly using the contact details below.

Time to Talk

This is our appointment service that books a timeslot for you to speak with one of our Chaplains, either in person or online. We have a bookable appointments Monday to Thursday in term time. In person appointments are held in the Meeting Room at The Sarah Turvill Multifaith Centre on Streatham Campus (across from the Forum Kitchen).

Tap the Time to Talk button to book one of our slots or e-mail chaplaincy@exeter.ac.uk

Book Time to Talk
Weekly slots:

Our Time to Talk service is currently on pause for the summer break. This will resume with the start of term in September 2026

We provide a safe space to talk, and offer you a confidential and non-judgmental listening ear.  We are here to support you, to be available for you to share any concerns, to support wellbeing, and to provide a place where everyone can feel at home. We seek to create a community space on campus to relax, de-stress and simply 'be'.

We all have values that guide and shape our lives.  We find and create meaning in different ways that allow us to develop our deeper identities.  This might be through nature, religious and spiritual practices, or through connection with others and the world.  Chaplains can help you explore your own sense of values, purpose and meaning, or support you in times of spiritual or existential difficulty.

Duty Pastoral Chaplains

These Chaplains are regularly based in the Multifaith Chaplaincy offering a pastoral duty timeslot and running activities, events and sessions.

This means they are available at the Sarah Turvill Multifaith Centre for drop-in 1-1 support within their duty timeslot. You can also get in touch with them separately using their contact details below to arrange your own time to meet.

The duty timeslot for each Pastoral Chaplain is listed below.

Faith and Worldview Chaplains

Same as the Duty Chaplains, these Chaplains run activities and events, offer advice and can provide support; drawing on their particular faith and worldview background.

These are members of our wider team that do not have an allotted pastoral duty slot - they are based at the Multifaith Centre less regularly. So, if you would like to speak to them, please reach out directly using the contact details below.
